Auto Air-Conditioning

Chamberlain Auto Electrics follow the car manufacturer’s recommendations and use only R13a as the replacement refrigerant for the older R12 refrigerant.

Air-Conditioning service and repairs are professionally carried out at either workshop or contact us and our field service unit will come to you.

Beware of cheap refrigerant blends. Blend refrigerants are not covered by a comprehensive warranty. Chamberlain Auto Electrics use only the specified refrigerant, R13 for all air-conditioning work. All new cars are R13a worldwide due to its non-flammable, ozone friendly properties and millions of hours of in-service testing in all climates.

Batteries

Click, Click, Won’t Start?

If there are no lights, check the wiring and battery terminal surfaces for corrosion. If these are good then recharge and check the battery for damage and test the charging system.

If good, then the starter solenoid contacts may be corroded or the starter motor brushes may be worn, which are common problems. If the problem continues there may excessive parasitic (ignition key off) drain.

Starter Motors & Alternators

Rebuilding of starter motors and alternators is the speciality of Chamberlain Auto Electrics. The team at Chamberlain’s take great pride in rebuilding starter motors and alternators.

My battery light is on in the dashboard but my car still runs ok?

A car’s 12V battery will eventually go dead if not recharged, so your car has a built-in recharging system consisting of an alternator along with a voltage regulator that keeps the battery charged and provides electricity to the vehicle when the engine is running. All cars have a battery light on the dashboard that is designed to warn you if the recharging system fails. If the battery light comes on and stays on while you are driving, if could be a broken alternator belt or even a total failure of the alternator!

The reason why your car can still operate normally even through the battery light is on is because your car can run off the energy stored in the battery. Your car will run ok until the battery goes dead! After that, nothing in your car will work. Need more advise? Contact us

Tip:
If the battery light is on in the dashboard conserve battery power by turning off the heater, the rear demister, the stereo and the headlights (if you can!), you might just make it to the nearest service station!
Reversing Cameras
